The annual Readers Choice Tech Awards celebrate the innovative new components, devices and subsystems that advance the state of the art and help change the way designers meet their challenges, create new products and enhance their design efforts. ECN readers, in an open nominating process, selected the PCIe flash adapter from LSI as the best new product introduced in 2011 in the Boards, Modules and Embedded Systems category.
“ECN Magazine has served the electronic design community for over 50 years, and our annual Readers Choice Tech Awards is one way we recognize our engineering audience by letting them choose what product they felt was the most important to them, not just what has been presented to them as ‘the best’ by others,” said Alix Paultre, editorial director, design group, Advantage Business Media. “The LSI WarpDrive SLP-300 represents a real benefit to the engineer or it wouldn’t have been chosen by the ECN audience.”
Designed for I/O-intensive and latency-sensitive workloads such as Web serving, data warehousing, online transaction processing and high-performance computing, the WarpDrive SLP-300 plugs into a standard PCIe server slot to provide enterprise customers with 300GB of high-performance SLC NAND flash storage while consuming less than 25 watts of power. The flash adapter helps customers accelerate application performance, reduce energy costs and eliminate racks of storage for an improved total cost of ownership.
“Organizations today are continuing to turn to the performance and low-latency benefits of flash storage solutions to contend with the explosive data growth driven by mobile devices, social media and the cloud,” said Steve Fingerhut, vice president of marketing, Accelerated Solutions Division, LSI. “The selection of the LSI flash adapter by ECN readers for this prestigious award underscores the success of the product in providing enterprise customers with seamless, effective and affordable application acceleration while reducing TCO.”
