The ASIC Customer Design Engineer is a challenging and cutting-edge position working with LSI internal design groups supporting customers as they design complex ASIC designs. As an integral member of the design implementation engineering team, the ASIC Customer Design Engineer gains technical savvy across multiple disciplines in ASIC design implementation including synthesis, RTL analysis, DFT/ATPG, chip floor-planning, place and route, timing analysis, signal integrity and physical verification. This is an exciting position that develops and hones both technical and communication skills.
Strong communications skills in both Japanese and English are important to this position. This is a position for developing and honing verbal and written communication skills, and for interfacing to many different people and engineering teams within LSI. Position requires weekly interface with LSI customers and frequent communication within the global LSI team.
The ideal candidate will have strong debug skills, good scripting skills, and hands on experience with front-end implementation tools. Previous experience in taping out ASIC or ASSP designs is required for this position.
Experience preference is for nanometer design implementation with Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor and Atrenta tools. Synthesis, RTL analysis, formal verification, timing analysis, and DFT tools.
Experience with advanced power management, very large hierarchical design methodologies, high speed signal integrity, RTL development and verification, advanced test methodologies, or other complex design implementation topics considered an asset. ( > Back to Top )
