Product Features / Benefits The Axxia® Communication Processor AXM5500 product family is designed to accelerate performance and increase power efficiency for mobile networks. The Axxia 5500 series combines 16-core ARM processors and interconnect with LSI’s specialized networking accelerators to optimize performance and power-efficiency. The Axxia 5500 series offers networking service providers with more capable and intelligent wireless infrastructure equipment, including base stations, cell site routers and gateways.

- The AXM5500 product family integrates high capacity Ethernet switching to drive significant reductions in power, board space and bill of material (BOM) cost. Supporting up to 16 10GbE interfaces, the AXM5500 product can support a variety of intra-board, intra-chassis and subtending connectivity topologies with a single SoC.
- The AXM5500 product family is supported with a comprehensive tool suite and production-quality protocol processing software modules for wireless infrastructure applications. The LSI Axxia is ideal for OEMs to meet accelerated time-to-market goals and efficiently leverage their development resources.
