Today's mobile service providers face building out their next-generation networks at a time when revenues are flat. Yet most service providers are experiencing double-digit growth in terms of network traffic, as consumers increasingly use their smartphones and connected devices to watch videos, browse the Internet, and interact with social media applications.
LSI multiradio access solutions target high-bandwidth, high-computational (and scalable) applications. They are optimized for LTE (FDD and TDD) and WCDMA (HSPA+), and support legacy GSM base station applications. In addition, LSI multiradio access solutions enable greater bandwidth for service flexibility while lowering operating expenses.
The Axxia™ Communication Processor provides deterministic performance for all wireless L1 – L3/transport functions. Built on PowerPC processor cores and programmable StarCore DSPs, and offering flexible baseband acceleration, it provides best-in-class performance optimized for cost, power, and price.

Axxia Communication Processors Axxia Communication Processors help you manage huge volumes of wireless traffic with low latency and no load on the CPU complex, freeing it for control plane workloads. The ACP3448 processor features four powerful PowerPC 476FP processor cores with a large 512KB L2 cache per core, and a wide array of intelligent offload engines, including industry-proven packet classification, traffic management, security processing, and deep packet inspection. The on-chip processing elements are tied together using the innovative Virtual Pipeline technology, a message-passing architecture that provides a logical-layer link and controls the movement of packets through a chip.
StarPro Media Processors The LSI StarPro Multicore Media Processor is a heterogeneous computing platform optimized for low-power at high channel-count densities. It features up to 16 StarCore SC3400e DSP cores and eight ARM11 Processors in a compact and economical BGA package and can deliver 1400+ Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) to TDM channels. |
